Hi all:
I am looking to see if anyone is interested in hiking Teh. Mt. after work during the week, say, around 5:30, 6:00-ish. I'm getting ready for some Sierra backpack trips this summer and it's a great training hike or cross-training for biking. Wednesdays look light, but I'm open to any day. Let me know if anyone is interested and we can set it up.

Tehachapi Mtn. is the best training I have found. I am very interested in joining mid week climbs or other hikes around the area. My schedule is flexible as I am a teacher and off for the summer. I am a backpacker too and have trips planned for the summer. Let me know.

Hi Barbara, you joined. Yeah! I had so much fun on the ride. I'm trying to set up a hike for this week. It may be tomorrow, Tues. How does that work? Kerry

Hi Brandy, the hike was great, yeah we're real gabbers. We saw one other guy. My hands always get cold coming down. It can be windy on the ridge, too. Nevertheless, a fabulous hike. We're a go for next Tues., 6/16/09. Come join us. I always bring headlamp/flashlight, gloves, drink and windbreaker or fleece. We started at the Nuooah trail head approx. 5:45-ish. I rush from work and go straight up there. We have plenty of light with the longer days. So no worries there. Hope to see you and anyone else who wants to join us. Bye for now. Kerry

Hey guys, setting this up for Tuesdays coinsides with our weekly mountain bike ride time. If we spread our activities out over the week we could get more cross participation. Just a thought. Anywho, which one of you wants to be the hiking coordinator? Discuss among yourselves and let me know and I'll change that persons forum status to moderator so they can place recurring calendar items. It's not much but it's something.

Hey Trent, you're right. It does conflict with Tues. night's event. I was initally thinking Wed. anyway. We can set it up as an event for Wed. Sounds fine with me. I'm extremely flexible. Most nights are fine. What does a moderator do, is it just coordinating? Thurs. nights are open. What works best for everyone?
Second thought, where do you guys mountiain bike on tues. and how long is the ride?

I think we'll stick with Tues. for this week and then rearrange to another night that doesn't conflict with other events on the calender and maybe we can set a regular weekly hike day and start the next week, if that's okay with everyone. So let's make it Tues., 6/16, 5:45 Nuooah Trail. Allrighty.

I hope this works: I'm putting in a link to the Sierra Club 100 peaks section that gives specs/info on Teh. Mt.
http://angeles.sierraclub.org/hps/guides/03e.htm
if it doesn't work, maybe copy and past the link.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you guys, Wed works as nothing is scheduled then. Our monthly meetings are on the third Thursday of every month so Thursday complicates the cool-aid. Speaking of which our next meeting is this Thursday on my deck. As to when and where rides/events are, most have been scheduling them on the calendar. The Mountain Bike ride meets Tuesday nights starting at 5:45 at the Meadowbrook Park parking lot and heads out around 6:00 pm. The main thing a moderator can do is lead events, and schedule recurring events on the calendar. If you want it it's yours Kerrbear, you took the initiative you should get the awesome power.

One more note regarding schedule.
Some of the folks at Gils are MTB riding in Lancaster/Palmdale Wednesdays at 6:30 in the evening. I haven't caught up with them about that yet but it is on my to do list.

I think it best if we just worry about schedule conflicts within our own groups as we'll never deconflict with everything that's going on.
